Idag hade jag tänkt presentera ett väldigt användbart verktyg, nämligen Spellbinders Grand Calibur! Med den här maskinen kan man både skära ut motiv och embossa dem, alltså göra så att de får en reliefmönstrad yta. En av de bästa sakerna med just den här maskinen är att den tar flera olika varumärken av dies, egentligen ganska många om man har rätt tillbehör till den, plus att den tar papper upp till 8,5" (tum) brett. Längden är endast begränsat till storleken på bottenplattan, och de plattor som tillhör maskinen är 8,5x12".

På framsidan är en spak som man drar åt höger så maskinen suger fast i underlaget, det gör att den sittar stadigt medan man arbetar med den. Sen kan man dra ut en liten bräda som gör att det blir lättare att hantera plattorna sedan, plus att där har man en enkel instruktion hur man använder sina olika plattor.

On the front side there's a lever, pull it to the right and the machine get stuck on the surface and gets a lot easier to work with. After that you can pull out this little board that helps you get everything in place using the machine, on the board there's also simple instructions for plate combinations.
Här är då de olika plattorna:
A - Basplatta
B - Embossingplatta
C - Skärplatta
D - Adapterplatta
Brun - Tunn gummiplatta för embossing
OBS! Tänk på att olika märken på dies kräver olika kombinationer på plattorna! och en annan viktig sak att komma ihåg är att inte blanda varumärken, utan kör alltid samma sort när du skär då blir det alltid bra. Annars skär det ojämnt och skär kanske inte riktigt igenom.
Nedan ska jag visa enkelt hur man skär ut OCH embossar motiv!

Here's the different plates:

Pls note! Differend brands of dies needs different combos of plates! Another important thing to remember is to never use different die brands in one cut, if you use the same brand the cut will be even and cut properly.
Below I'll show you how to cut out AND emboss shapes!

Choose your shapes for your project.
Lägg dem på basplattan med skären uppåt.

Put them on the baseplate with the cutting edge upwards.
Lägg ditt utvalda papper med framsidan nedåt uppepå dina dies.

Put your paper on top of your dies, front facing down.
Lägg skärplattan överst, för in hela paketet i öppningen av maskinen och veva igenom allt så det kommer ut på baksidan. Det är lätt och smidigt att veva.

Put the cutting plate on top, and put the package in the front opening of the machine and wind the handle until everything comes out on the backside. It goes quiet nice and smooth.
Så här ser det ut när det kommit ut på andra sidan. Nu har vi skurit ut motiven.

Nu är det dags att embossa, lägg nu den bruna gummiplattan över ditt papper, sedan på med den rosa embossingplattan, och veva igenom allt en gång till.

Now time for embossing, put the tan rubber plate on top of your paper, then put your pink embossing plate on top of that, and put it through the machine one more time.
Så här ser det ut nu, man ser att det blivit dimensioner i pappret.

Tag bort pappret runt om dina motiv.

Dålig bild, med nu är motivet utskuret och embossat och färdigt att användas på valfritt alster!
