Last post of inspiration at Hobbyworld

So this is it. I've been a member of the Design Team over at Hobbyworld Sweden for 1,5 years now, and it has been such a great deal of fun! I've been trying all kinds of materlials and mediums you could think of, I've been cutting, gluing, painting and distressing my heart and soul out - and I loved every minute of it!

This will be my last blog post for Hobbyworld Sweden, and I want to share with you some of my favourite work I've done.

En av mina kollegor fyllde år så jag var tvungen att hitta på något skoj. Killen tävlingscyklar, så en cykel var givet, sen ville jag att det skulle vara lite "grungy" och halvruffigt - och det blev det ju... Det var jättekul att jobba med många olika material och olika typer av medium, jag gör det inte ofta men blir oerhört inspirerad av det!

One collegue of mine just had his birthday so I had to make something cool for him. A bike on the card was a must when he is racing, and I wanted it to look a bit "grungy" and rough - and I think it does... I really enjoyed working with a lot of different materials and several mediums, I don't do that very much but I get a lot of inspiration out of it!

And so it's time for the December Challenge over at Hobbyworld! This month we want you to create something inspired ny Christmas. But, we added a twist to it... Below you'll find the inspiration project I made, a card in white and blue shades, glimmering like white snow against a darkblue chrystalclear Decembersky.

First Christmas decoration of the year

Första juldekorationen för i år fixad! Jag brukar i och för sig inte vara allt för generös med julattiraljer, satsar hellre på mycket levande ljus och eventuellt naturella ting som verkligen doftar jul, som exempelvis granris, apelsiner, kanelpotpurrier och liknande, tomtar är inte min grej liksom... Men med mitt läckra papperspaket från Echo Park kan jag ju inte bara göra julkort och ge bort till andra, jag var tvungen att hitta på något som faktiskt jag själv skulle kunna ha framme över jul. Det blev en liten julskylt-prydnad-mobil-grej. :) Storleken är 9x6".

Strax efter fotot nedan togs fick jag raskt hitta ett säkrare ställe att hänga den eftersom mina hjärtesnören uppenbarligen såg aptitliga ut och min katt Loppan gjorde ett väldigt angeläget försök att slakta mitt alster för dagen...

The first Christmas decoration of the year completed! I'm usually not very found of traditional Christmas decorations, not loads of it though, I prefer natural made before mechanical made, like wreaths, oranges and such, those things surrounds me with the aroma of Christmas. And candles, LOTS of candles!

BUT... I've got this beautiful kit from Echo Park, and I just had to make something I could keep for myself instead of making all those cards to give away, so i made this "sign-thingy". Made it in size 9x6".

Right after this first photo below was taken I had to rescue my sign from being butchered by my cat, she made it very clear that those heart strings would taste absolutely fantastic...

Paper Wreath

Fick superläckra papper från Spellbinders i min ägo, specialanpassade för mixed media. Då fick jag prestationsångest! Jag är lite försiktig vad gäller just det, för börjar jag väl kladda med olika medium så fastnar jag lätt i det träsket och sen blir det klurigt att ta sig tillbaka till scrapbookingen.

Hur som helst. Så snygga papper kan inte bara ligga och samla damm så jag letade efter ett passande projekt då dessa papper är något tunnare än vad normala scrappapper är, kan inte säga riktigt exakt då det inte framgår av paketet, men definitivt tunnare än mina 80 grams kopieringspapper. Är du med då?

Sen fick jag se en bild på en söt liten enkel krans av pappersstrutar! Ja men PRECIS! Sen har jag bara snyggat till den lite "Zorcie Style". Tadaaa!

Alla strutar är fastlimmade på en rund kartongplatta på baksidan, och där har jag även fäst ett hänge så den går att hänga upp på väggen om man vill.

Got this adorable patterned paper pack from Spellbinders in my hands, especially suitable for mixed media. Oh my God! Can't do that! If I start playing with my mediums, I get stuck doing that and nothing else what so ever...

Anyway. That peautiful patterned paper can't be put on a dusty shelf, it has to be created with in any way yo can possibly think of! I started to look for a project that would do these sheets justice, and I finally came across this picture of a simple wreath of paper rolls. Yes OF COURSE! And I've added some pimping "Zorcie Style". Tadaaa!

All rolls are glued onto a rounded cardboard plate on the backside, and I also attatched a hanger so I can put it on the wall or a door or something like that.

Joy to the world!

Dags att planera inför julens produktion av julkort! Varje år gör jag likadant, gör ett gäng olika "prototyper" tills jag hittar den jag gillar bäst för året - sen upptäcker jag att tiden är allt för tight - och så hinner jag inte göra till alla som jag vill! :)

I år är jag dock ute i GOD tid, så det borde kanske fungera... Här har jag stansat ut granar i olika storlekar med min Silhouette Grand Calibur, sedan lagt dem lager på lager med hjälp av min limpistol (så de bättre behåller sin snygga 3D-vikning). Den snygga bakgrunden i kraftpapper har jag också kört genom min stans med en embossingfolder som ger den ett snyggt reliefmönster som jag sedan färgat in för att det ska framträda ytterligare.

Now it's time to prepare for the Christmas card production of the year! Every year I do the same mistake, I make a few "prototypes" until I get the perfect one - and then I realize that I actually are all out of time to make cards for everyone I want to send them to... :) My bad.

This year I think I'm safe though, so it might work out... On this card below I've cut out some trees in different size with my Silhouette Grand Calibur and layered them up using a glue gun (way better than anything else to make them keep their cool 3D-fold). The beautiful background in kraft paper I also made with my Grand Calibur using an embossingfolder, then I inked it to get the relief pattern tp pop out perfectly!

Det är vad jag skrivit som journaling på den här layoutsidan i mitt Photo Freedom-album. Sidan är tillägnad min fantastiska dotter, betydligt yngre på bilderna än de snart 17 år hon är idag. Photo Freedom är en variant på de mycket populära olika varianterna av Project Life-album som finns på marknaden just nu och lanseras av Echo Park tillsammans med underbara Jenni Bowlin.

That is the journaling I wrote for this layoutpage in my Photo Freedom album. The page is dedicated to my incredible daughter, a lot younger in the pictures than her actual 17 years soon to be. Photo Freedom is a type of the very popular Project Life albums on the market today, distributed by Echo Park in cooperation with the talented Jenni Bowlin.

Halloween closing in

Nu är det höst. På riktigt. Mörkt, sprakande färger, murrigt och mysigt! Eftersom jag har en hel del läckra Halloweendekorationer i min ägo var jag ju tvungen att göra några kort på temat även om just Halloween egentligen inte är något jag firar själv, jag tycker nog personligen att den mer svenska varianten Allhelgonahelgen är trevligare - men det är jag det! :)

Fall is here. For real. Dark evenings, vibrant colors and really cosy! I have a lot of nice Halloween embellishments, so I just had to make a few cards even though I don't celebrat Halloween myself. I prefer the Swedish holiday "Allhelgonahelgen", it's more about remembering our loved ones that past away, not so much about candy and "trick and treats". But that is my personal opinion! :)
